Surprising Herculaneum

At a short distance from Pompeii, another town sharing the same destiny: to be frozen in time and giving us, since already some centuries, a spectacular sight of beauty and preservation.

    Walking tour. It is possible to reach Herculaneum from Naples by Circumvesuviana train, direction Sorrento, stop ERCOLANO SCAVI.

  • Tickets

    Tickets can be purchased directly in Herculaneum (no skip the line cash at the moment) or online by Ticketone app. Entrance fee: euros 13,00, free of charge for under 18 or 2,00 euros for EU 18-24 year-old citizens (it is mandatory to exhibit a document, or a picture of it, with the birth date).

From the ancient shore the height of the volcanic material that buried the town and the copies of the three hundred skeletons of some fugitives are the perfect introduction to a site still keeping the calm atmosphere of a small elegant residential town.

Shops, a public swimming pool, the Temple of Augustales with its frescoes shining colors, elegant residences like the House of Neptune and Anfitrite or the House of the Deers with its terrace once opened on the Bay of Naples, The Women Baths and the site absolute hallmark: carbonized wood, like that of some shops shelves or that of some windows shutters along the main street or, finally, the one of the doors in the House of the Wooden Partition or in the Bicentenary House.

It is possible to customize the tour extending its duration (including a break) up to 6hrs if you would like to include a tour in Pompeii as well and /or an ancient recipes taste by local chefs and /or for a tour to Pompeii Virtual Museum (euro 10,00).
It is possible as well to extend the tour including Naples or one of its museums.
